New to OSC
« on: May 01, 2019, 12:49:53 PM »
Hi, guys

I wanna do a trigger video using OSC with TSPS on the same computer.
Here is my idea: I set Kinect up in front of dark-ish room's door, then when a person walks in, TSPS will detect and trigger the video that I made using OSC via the projector behind the person's back. However I am completely new to OSC.

What software do I need to use OSC on the same system?

Thank you.

Hello!

OSC is merely the communication protocol  it's how TSPS and other apps talk to each other. You'd have to write an app in Processing, Max, or another application that can receive OSC to a) listen to OSC from TSPS and b) trigger video playback. I think there are some stand-alone video apps that listen to OSC, but you might have to google around! A lot of times they are listening for a specific message, in which case you might need to use something like https://osculator.net/ to connect TSPS to one of those apps.

Cheers!
